On the heels of a report that Jake Gyllenhaal will play Joe Namath on the silver screen comes another report that HBO will take the Barry Bonds steroids book “Game of Shadows†to the small screen.

Of course, there won’t be a script until that pesky little writers strike ends, but by the time that’s settled, the writers will have so much pent up creative energy that the grand jury testimony scenes should be positively riveting. My advice: Go after the guys who wrote “3: The Dale Earnhardt Story†for ESPN. That was heart-wrenching stuff.
And let me be the first to start the speculation about who will portray Bonds. My vote goes to Nick Cannon as Pirates-era Bonds, with Michael Clarke Duncan taking over as Giants-era Bonds.
