CBS and Pats owner Robert Kraft are bringing Boston-area sports fans exactly what they never knew the wanted: “I Love Lucy” re-runs. At a bar. Next to Gillette Stadium.

In the mold of ESPN Zone and FOX Sports Grill, CBS is building the CBS Scene. But the Scene won’t be showing just stupid sports. No sir, they will air re-runs of (and I’m not making this up) “I Love Lucy,†“The Honeymooners,†“Gilligan’s Island,†and “The Twilight Zone.” Plus, “more favorites from the network’s extensive library.” So basically they’re banking on people paying to watch Nick-at-Night?
But the ridiculousness doesn’t end there. “Backdrops and props in function rooms can be transformed into show settings, for parties with CBS show themes, like ‘Survivor’ or ‘The Amazing Race.’ ... viewers will watch classic moments from ‘Late Show with David Letterman,’ ‘60 Minutes’ and others.”
What, no “Moonlight” parties?
