Looking for another reason to get away from the wife (or husband) and kids for the night? How do the words “fantasy fishing draft” sound? I’m sure your better-half will totally understand.
In an effort to expand the sport of recreational and sport fishing, Irwin Jacobs, chairman of the professional bass-fishing tournament group FLW Outdoors, said his company is offering a $1 million payout to the winner of his newly launched online fantasy-fishing competition.
From what I can gather from FantasyFishing.com, you sign up for free (unless you want vital info such as “lake conditions,” which are gonna cost you), then pick the 10 pro anglers for each FLW event who you think will pull the most fish outta the lake.
The fantasy fishing winners for each event earn $100,000, and the best fantasy fisherman for the season gets a million bucks. I can’t understand why FLW (which I’m sure stands for something, although I have no clue what) would feel that they have to offer such huge cash rewards. Well, other than the fact that exactly zero people in their right mind would sign up without the potential to become a millionaire.
