Forget about silly politics, Sen. John Kerry is fighting to solve the real issue facing this great nation: The divide between the NFL Network and cable companies.
John Kerry wants to broker deals between NFL Network and the two biggest cable operators—Comcast and Time Warner Cable—through a meeting at his D.C. office next week.
Cohen [Comcast Exec] responded almost immediately, saying he would not be able to make the meeting due to prior commitments.
Time Warner has not yet responded. The NFL said it would participate if the cable operators agree to be there.
“We’ll do it if they do it.” This is like billionaire infants fighting with each other over a shiny new toy.
I understand the NFL is busy not giving fans what they want, but I’d think they could just take some time out of their busy schedule to meet with Kerry.
It’s also no coincidence that a Massachusetts senator would feel the need to get involved three weeks before the Patriots are set to face the Giants on NFL Network.
