Weather Is More Important Than Mitchell Report

By Chris Mottram
The results of the Mitchell Report continue to take over the world like and unstoppable rebel force. Instead of turning on ESPN News this morning -- as I normally do while getting ready -- I went with “Saved By the Bell: The College Years” just to get away from Mitchell. Granted, it was the episode where Zack proposes to Kelly, so I would totally have been watching anyway, but you get the idea.
For those of you who are into the network morning shows, you didn’t even have to change your regular AM TV schedule to avoid the bombardment. According to Sports Business Daily, “Early Show,” “Today” and “Good Morning America” all lead with the snow storm in New England (what a freak occurrence!!1!11!) rather than the Mitchell Report.
And once they got to the Report, they didn’t stay there long. Each spent no more than five minutes discussing it, with “Today” wasting less than a minute on the topic. Granted these aren’t sports programs, but it’s pretty relieving when you consider that ESPN was all Mitchell from 1PM until ... well, it’s still going.
