UCF Running Back Kevin Smith to Stay

Central Florida running back and eventual single-season rushing champ Kevin Smith has decided to put off entering the NFL Draft and stay at UCF for his senior season.

Smith looked like a first-round pick to us, but there are questions about his size and running style. Having seen him tear apart a Texas defense early in the season, Smith won me over with his speed and cutting ability. The comparisons to Barry Sanders will start and end with Smith breaking Barry’s single-season record in their next game.

Depending on which junior’s enter the draft, Smith looks like an early favorite to be the #1 back heading into the 2009 NFL Draft.
