Man With Giant Pink Slip Dislikes Isiah Thomas

By Chris Mottram
There will be no teeth cleaned today in the dental office of Dr. Art G. Nathan in Long Island. No sir, Dr. Nathan will be too busy protesting outside of Madison Square Garden, seeking the firing of Coach Thomas.

The protest will begin around 11AM, and will feature plenty of props. Among them, an eight-foot-by-four-foot cardboard pink slip. Dr. Nathan is totally gonna make a difference with his defiant, 15-person protest.
“I’m getting disgusted,” said Nathan, who is 67. “And James Dolan is not going to do a darn thing. We hope we have thousands of people. It’ll be a beautiful sight to see.”
The group has told the Police Department that the demonstration will probably include about 15 people, said Officer Martin Brown, a police spokesman, and last for about 30 minutes.
So, the dentist hopes thousands will show up, but in reality, he knows only about 15 people will be there. This might have something to do with the fact that he planned his protest in the middle of a work day, in 40 degree (possibly raining) weather.
But it probably has more to do with the fact that it’s a pointless plan.
UPDATE: Naturally, at least one blogger was there for the protest and has some visuals.
