Think back to your college days – or to perhaps this morning – and you should recall what the “walk of shame†is. Things are still blurry as you try to sort out what happened last night. Much like when your roommate helped you recall the debauchery, so to are we here to help sort out yesterday’s sports madness.

Let’s All Cry About the BCS
Three things in like are certain: Death (unless you’re Lou Holtz), taxes (unless you’re Derek Jeter), and the BCS is BS (unless you’re a Buckeye). We all know that. We all understand that teams are going to get “hosed.” So deal with it. Besides, there isn’t much to argue about this year. LSU vs. Ohio State seems about right, although if you look at it in the most basic sense, the best two teams from the best two conferences should play in the title game. In other words, the optimal match-up would be LSU vs. USC. As is, the best match-up is WVU vs. Oklahoma.
Did Anything Exciting Happen in the NFL?
My apologies. I was too busy having my still-beating heart ripped out and stomped on by the Redskins. Other than Eli Manning not sucking, everything seemed to go as planned. The Colts are better than most are giving them credit for, and amazingly, the the Dolphins are worse than we imagined. As for MNF, Wofford at Wisconsin on the Deuce will probably be more competitive.
Who Wishes to Be the No. 1 Team in All the Land?
UCLA, who is No. 1 in the meaningless ESPN poll, lost to Texas last night in the Pac-10/Big XII Hardwood Series. The real No. 1, UNC, beat Kentucky with ease. Probably because Kentucky isn’t good. And on Saturday, Duke, who looks to be the best team in the country, barely beat Davidson. Probably because Davidson is good. What does all this tell us? The ACC ain’t nothin’ to [mess] with.
