Bobby Knight Doesn’t Take Well to Heckling

By Chris Mottram
Texas Tech -- because they really care about showing the committee that they played a strong non-conference schedule -- traveled to wherever Centenary College is to beat up on the smallest Division I school in the nation. Problem is, the Raiders lost to the Gentlemen (what a great team name) 70-66.

And what’s worse, Bobby Knight didn’t come back to coach the second-half. The fans heckled Knight about some recent hunting-related altercations as the first-half came to an end.
[quote="The Shreveport Times"]A Centenary student yelled, “Oh (expletive), he’s got a gun,” as Knight headed to the locker room with his team leading the Gentlemen 35-32.
Knight stopped, walked to the students and calmly explained the Red Raiders were, “Being nice by coming here,” and that, “No other team in the (Big 12) conference would travel here.”
Knight and a hunting buddy were recently accused of hitting a home owner with errant birdshot while dove hunting in October.

Now that kind of conduct is not very becoming of a Gentleman. But it is, however, pretty hilarious.
Texas Tech claims Knight didn’t return to the game because he has “been sick since Alaska.” Losing to Centenary College certainly isn’t going to make him feel any better.
