Think what you will about James Carville, but you can’t deny that the man is pure entertainment. I saw him speak once on a college campus in Virginia. It was freaking mesmerizing. He’s like the Ultimate Warrior of politics. But with less face paint and more spit.
Anyway, Carville has made his thoughts on the BCS clear in the past (short verson: It’s evil and run by idiots). Today, he was on ESPN’s First Take to blast the BCS -- and other institutions -- yet again:
Carville: No One Wants Big Ten’s Stinkin’ Teams
In case you can’t watch at work, or don’t care to, this was by far the best part of the interview:
“The reason we’re watching Southern Cal and Illinois – a game no one wants to see – instead of Southern Cal and Georgia – a game that everyone would want to see – is because the Rose Bowl has to do the Big Ten thing because that’s the only way the Big Ten can make money, is by being in the Rose Bowl, because nobody wants their stinkin’ teams. That’s why.”
He basically just said that not only does Illinois suck, but so does the entire Big Ten. And you know what? I tend to agree with him.
