Even College Bands Enjoy Heckling Rexy

By Chris Mottram
All right, so this is a couple months old, but it was just posted on the YouTubes yesterday so it’s new to us. This is the Wisconsin marching band paying tribute to the then-backup Rex Grossman the day before the Bears were set to play the Packers:

Rex has since passed the clipboard back to Brian Grease, and has actually -- dare I say -- been somewhat decent since returning as the starter. The Bears are 2-2 in their last four, and Rex has four TDs to one pick. Not great, but for him, that’s outstanding. Certainly better than his 1-to-6 ratio before being benched.
Tonight, they play in Washington ... I mean, Landover, MD ... against the Redskins. Both teams are more desperate for a win than Stephan A. is for relevance. At 5-7, it’s pretty much a must-win for both, although an 8-8 wild card team in the NFC isn’t all that improbable. It’s not Cowboys vs. Packers, but for the 65% of you who don’t have NFL Network, it’s probably still worth heading to the watering hole to check out.
The Skins are favored by three at home, so it’s basically a pick ‘em. Considering the fact that an already short week for Washington was made even shorter by Sean Taylor’s funeral on Monday, they’re likely under-prepared.
But emotions are still running strong, and now that Joe Gibbs knows all the rules with regards to calling timeouts, the final prediction is Skins win 20-17, and neither team makes the playoffs.
