Brady Labeled as Bad Dad by Complete Strangers

By Chris Mottram
Look, I dislike Tom Brady as much as the next guy. This is due mostly to the fact that he’s a successful NFL quarterback that every woman on the planet is pathetically in love with. I think there’s a word for this. Ah, right. Jealously. That’s it.

But even with this hate in my heart for Brady, I can’t help but be completely annoyed by an article in Baby Talk (apparently this is something I’ll be forced to read when -- god forbid -- I create offspring), which was featured in the Boston Herald.
What do Tom Brady and Britney Spears have in common? According to Baby Talk they are both lousy parents ... “He gave her the Heisman throughout her entire pregnancy, but we thought he scored a late-in-the-game safety when he hopped a plane to L.A. to be with Moynahan and his new son, John, after she gave birth in August. But despite having reportedly been granted a week’s leave by his team, Brady spent only a day with the two, hightailing it to North Carolina to suit up for a preseason game. We’re throwing a flag on that play.”
So, Tom Brady is a bad parent because he can’t afford to take an entire week off during football season to be with the kid? He’s not a manager at Arby’s (no offense to managers at Arby’s). Taking even a couple days off during the season is completely impossible. I’m sure Brady’s son won’t mind when he’s a few years older and realizes that he is the son of quite possibly the best quarterback of all-time.
And another thing: Why the hell do these gossip columnists feel the need to write like the characters on The Hills speak? Also, the whole “late-in-the-game safety” reference makes no sense whatsoever. But I wouldn’t expect Baby Talk to understand something as complicated as a safety.
