- The NFL heads into Week 14 and it marks the return of an announcing legend in Pat Summerall. Summerall will be teamed up with Brian Baldinger for the Rams-Bengals, so it’s unlikely you’ll see John Madden’s old partner. Taking Baldinger’s normal spot with Dick Stockton, will be ex-coach and college football announcer Terry Donahue, who will do the Tampa Bay-Houston game.
- Monday Night Football looks to be “Mike Vick Night” as the Falcons QB will be sentenced earlier in the day (December 10). The Sunday and Monday Countdowns will both focus on the trial, but will also spice it up with the following: A collection of Bill Belichick press conferences, 10 year-old Jason Krause on Brett Favre, and Kenny Mayne talking with the cast of The Sopranos.

- CBS will do something different for a pregame Show this Sunday. They’ll have ex-Steelers coach and NFL Today analyst Bill Cowher game plan Pittsburgh’s offense and defense to show how they can beat the Patriots. Obviously, this is an exercise in futility, because even if a team wanted to beat the Pats, the NFL wouldn’t let them.
- College basketball will get into full swing on the networks this weekend for those who are looking to fill the void as we wait for football’s bowl season to get underway. ESPN will feature five of the nation’s top 25 in action highlighted by #15 Marquette at #23 Wisconsin (6PM, Terry Gannon/Jay Bilas). #3 Kansas, #11 Louisville, #24 Arizona will also be featured on ESPN and ESPN2.
- CBS also kicks off its hoops season with a pair of games on Saturday. Michigan at #7 Duke airs at 2PM and Kentucky will be at #15 Indiana at 4pm.
