Welcoming Dan Shanoff to The Sporting Blog

By Chris Mottram
After building a massive audience at some site called “ESPN.com†and on his personal blog, the great Dan Shanoff is officially joining us here at The Sporting Blog.
For those of you new to the internet, Shanoff used to produce “The Daily Quickie†on the Worldwide Leader’s Page 2, and then took his act to his own site on DanShanoff.com, where he wrote “The Quickie” every morning.
“The Quickie,†which will (tentatively) be known as “Wake-Up Call” in this space, is basically the most comprehensive and informative morning recap on the web. You will be able to find it here, each weekday morning by 9 a.m. ET starting this Monday.
So, for those of you keeping track, The Sporting Blog’s line-up as of now consists of Large from No Mas, Brian Powell from Awful Announcing, Spencer Hall from Every Day Should Be Saturday and Dan Shanoff.
This follows Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio extending his exclusive relationship with SportingNews.com to file two-columns-per-week for the site through the entire ‘08 NFL offseason. In addition, Deadspin’s Will Leitch will file daily columns for the Web site from the Super Bowl in Glendale beginning January 29.
These are exciting times indeed here at SportingNews.com.
