LiveBlog: Seahawks-Packers, fourth quarter

Chris Littmann breaks down the ongoing action of the Seahawks-Packers NFC Division Playoff matchup:

Final score: Packers 42, Seahawks 20.
Everyone be sure to get up and stretch between games. Come back and join us for the live blog during the Jaguars-Patriots game.

Aaron Rodgers is in for Favre after a nice ovation. Now we get the standard highlight reel of Favre’s day that includes the underhanded scoop pass and a snow ball thrown at Donald Driver. If you missed the replay, Driver was able to retaliate with a point-blank shot to the head. ... Hey, quit looking at me like that. The Packers and Seahawks aren’t the only ones trying to run out the clock.

Oh for the love of the winding clock ... run the ball! Nothing like watching two teams go through the motions in the final few minutes. The Packers are on a 42-6 run in this game, but here’s something that surprised me: The sack recorded by the Packers was just the second of the game. Hasselbeck can look back at this game and rightfully point a few fingers at his receivers for dropped passes. Also not helping matters: a non-existent ground game.
8:03
The Seahawks turn the ball over on downs, which gives us time to reflect on another Brett Favre milestone. He becomes the second QB in postseason history with 5,000 passing yards. Only Joe Montana, who threw for 5,772 yards in 23 postseason appearances, is ahead of Favre.
8:14
Someone tell the FOX crew that this is not the NFC championship game. Way too much Super Bowl talk. I’m guessing more than a few superstitious Packers fans would agree with me. Is it time for Jaguars-Patriots yet? Oh, and if “The Sarah Connor Chronicles” is the biggest thing coming on TV, as the promo says, the WGA strike can’t end soon enough.

The Packers’ punter gets his first work of the day, but not before Ryan Grant cracks the 200-yard mark. If Seattle doesn’t get in right here, we could even get some Aaron Rodgers time.
12:21
The Seahawks go three-and-out. I could see these final 12-plus minutes winding pretty quickly. Here’s the only question: Will Ryan Grant get to 200 yards in this drive?
13:26 remaining
Franchise-record 42 points in a playoff game for the Packers on the strength of Ryan Grant’s franchise-record third rushing touchdown of this playoff game. Grant’s numbers are just sick: 23 carries for 169 yards and three touchdowns. Green Bay leads 42-20, and I don’t blame any of their fans for starting to think about a game against the Giants or Cowboys next week.↵
