Chris Littmann breaks down the ongoing action of the Jaguars-Patriots AFC Division Playoff matchup:

Halftime
The Patriots take a knee and we’ll go to the half. While you get your snacks, think about the performance of these two quarterbacks: David Garrard is only 12-of-14 for 149 yards while Tom Brady is a perfect 12-of-12 passing.
:21
The Jaguars appear content to force the Patriots to burn a timeout. Jacksonville takes the field for the first punt by either team today.
:57
After the Patriots fail to pick up the third-down conversion, the Jaguars wisely call timeout to preserve some chance of moving the ball. What makes it even better for Jacksonville? Stephen Gostkowski pushes his kick right and the game remains tied at 14.

I know Tom Brady isn’t in desperate need of more praise, but he made a really smart play when Stephen Neal (or Logan Mankins?) picked up a chop block flag. He saw the official throw the flag, and simply went down knowing it wasn’t worth taking a hit on a scramble.
Two-minute warning
The end-around with Wes Welker gets the Patriots a 13-yard pickup. Even Tom Brady is out there (sort of) blocking, even if his guy did make the play. Still, the Patriots are in prime position to put points on the board before the half and then, assuming they don’t allow a quick Jacksonville TD, they should be able to add to that lead because they start the second half with the ball.

With that last throw, Tom Brady is 10-for-10 passing, hitting six receivers. Actually, make that 11-for-11 while I was typing.

David Garrard does a great job of standing in the pocket with Jarvis Green flying in his face. He looks off one side of the field and finds Ernest Wilford. This game is tied 14-14 after the Jaguars completed the 7:07, 95-yard drive. Huge, enormous, monstrous, gigantic. I’m sort of out of adjectives to describe the importance of that drive. David Garrard is a one of the most slept upon QBs in the NFL based on the job he has done this season.
12:10
The Jaguars are trying to create acrobatic highlight films on this drive. First, Marcedes Lewis went airborne after another catch (and he left the field with a limp). MJD got in on the act after a long catch and run. Here’s all that matters: the Jaguars are on the move and trying to tie this game.

Jim Nantz takes the words write off my finger tips: disaster. That’s the only way to describe what Maurice Jones-Drew just did on that kickoff return. It sort of feels like when people overuse the term “must-win game,” but it would be in the Jaguars’ best interest to at least occupy some clock and reverse fields on this drive. Points would be even better.
And while we wait
CBS just ran a promo for Showtime’s show “Dexter” coming to the rescue in this strike-stripped TV schedule. Great show on Showtime, but it’s pretty “mature” seeing as how it deals with serial killers, so I wonder how they’ll edit it for network TV. Check it out if you get a chance.
14:57 remaining
Forget about Vrabel; the Patriots get that last yard the traditional way, slamming Laurence Maroney into the end zone. Fantasy owners everywhere grind their teeth, wondering where that was all season.
Before the quarter starts
Keep an eye on Vrabel, the man who recovered Garrard’s fumble, on one of the next two plays. I’d be shocked if they don’t go to him.↵
