Chris Littmann breaks down the ongoing action of the Chargers-Colts AFC Division Playoff matchup:

Wow. If the replay they just showed before the half was the alleged hold on Antonio Cromartie’s 89-yard interception return, then they’ve been ripped off. It was uncanny how they were lauding his athleticism only to have him make that pick and then reverse fields and score. Philip Rivers takes a knee and it’s a 10-7 lead for the Colts at the half.

Explain this to me: A review comes down from the booth, and Gonzalez made the catch at the 1:00 mark. How again, does the clock not get reset to 1:00? The real crime is the clock management by the Colts on this drive. Indy should’ve used its first timeout after the catch by Gonzalez, saving valuable time.
1:46
Bob Sanders gets whistled for possibly the dumbest unsportsmanlike penalty. What on earth is the defensive MVP of the NFL thinking? Here’s what matters: Nate Kaeding misses the field goal by hitting the upright from 48 yards. Norv Turner is livid after what he thought should’ve been a pass interference call on third down went uncalled along with the taunting penalty on Sanders. The Colts have three timeouts and plenty of time to move down the field and add to the lead.
Two-minute warning
Tomlinson has been hopping around with his helmet on, looking like he wants to get into the game. The way Philip Rivers and Michael Turner look on this drive, he might be wise to stay on the sideline and give the medical staff a chance to further examine the knee at halftime.
Tour de Tomlinson
L.T. was just shown on an exercise bike, presumably getting loose for this drive. But he remains on the bike as the Chargers take the field and Michael Turner is the man in the backfield.

How about that for “stats I would’ve never guessed?” Adam Vinatieri hadn’t hit a field goal over 39 yards until that boot. His 47-yard field goal puts the Colts back on top of the Chargers, 10-7.
6:01
So much for the streak. Manning throws a perfect pass ... right to Shawne Merriman. Merriman even had to be surprised, because he couldn’t hang on and the Colts live another down.
6:38
Make room on that playoff passing percentage board. Tom Brady set the record last night, going 26-of-28 passing. Manning already sits at 14-of-14 on the day.
And while we wait
In honor of Dallas Clark’s earlier touchdown, the real Madden commercial that should’ve run:
LiveBlog: Chargers-Colts, second quarter
8:38
Brilliant throw from Phillip Rivers to put it where Vincent Jackson could outjump the out-of-position safety Antoine Bethea. Obviously, all Chargers fans are more concerned with L.T.‘s status at the moment, but this game is tied 7-7 on the 14-yard passing TD.
9:09
Uh oh. LaDainian Tomlinson is on the sideline touching his left knee and having it examined by the Chargers’ staff.
10:26
Credit to Colts linebacker Tyjuan Hagler for not ending up on a highlight reel. He snags a tiny piece of L.T.‘s jersey on his jump cut back to the middle, preventing a first down, if not a touchdown. Still, it’s second-and-6 from the Indy 12.
12:18
Rivers did just enough to find Buster Davis for an 18-yard completion on third-and-8. He follows up that play with a pass to Antonio Gates down the seam for 23 yards. A drive destined for disaster nearly is in the red zone.
12:45
Delay of game on third-and-3, and you can’t really blame Philip Rivers. He was calling for that snap from five seconds remaining. Now it’s third-and-8 and it’s as loud as can be in Indy.
Before we start the second quarter
The Chargers have failed to put first-quarter points on the board in three of their last six games. Getting in a hole against Indy isn’t the way to go.↵
