Welcoming Bethlehem Shoals to The Sporting Blog

By Chris Mottram
As you may have noticed, there has been a complete lack of NBA coverage at The Sporting Blog. Contrary to popular belief, this is not due to the fact that I have a sincere distaste for pro basketball. No, it is simply because none of us are qualified to blog about said sport.
But finally, we have found the perfect man for the job. A man so good at what he does that even he can make me interested in the NBA. His name -- as you have probably gathered from my anti-climatic headline -- is Bethlehem Shoals.
You likely know Shoals from his work at Free Darko. Or at FanHouse. Or perhaps you’ve read him in SLAM (but not likely seeing as he just started there). Or maybe at McSweeney’s. And in the not-so-distant future, you will read him in his “still untitled book project.” Anyway, the guy is good. Really good. And I dare you not to enjoy his work in this space.
Shoals will begin posting regularly here on February 4th. In addition, he will be writing a NBA column for SportingNews.com once a week for those of you who require more words and “analysis.”↵
