Sports That Should Be: Wall Surfing

By Spencer Hall
Yemen is for lovers. Apologies, that’s Virginia. Yemen is a small, ancient country at the southern end of the Arabian landmass, and relies a lot on irrigation for agriculture, since the Arabian peninsula is not known for being particularly rainy.
Yemen is also not known for its culture of inventing new and interesting sports, but perhaps they should be.

The videographer calls it “wall surfing,” though I’d suggest “aqueduct luge” as an alternative. I doubt it will ever take off as a spectator sport in the United States, but there is one thing about it that just screams “American Cable Television-endorsed Sport:” a massive potential for grievous, career-ending injury.↵
