Each day, there are stories within the sporting world that we are bombarded with even though the average fan probably doesn’t care. Here is where we mock those stories.
By Chris Mottram
If I were to tell you that Dana Jacobson was suspended from her job for apparently saying, “F--- Notre Dame ... f--- Jesus,” our subsequent conversation would probably go something like this:
You: “Who?”
Me: “Jesus Christ. You know, king of kings.”
You: “No no, brah. Diane Jacobs. Who’s that?”
Me: “Oh, my bad. It’s Dana Jacobson. She’s on ESPN2 or something.”
You: “Ah. That’s cool. I hate Notre Dame too.”
And really, that would probably be the extent of it, because you, nor I, nor any other sports fan gives two craps about someone who anchors a morning show on ESPN2 that -- more or less -- insults our intelligence for two hours each day.
But for some reason, this story is everywhere today. So -- because this is apparently important -- here are the details. She uttered the previously mentioned quotes at a roast for ESPN’s Mike and Mike. She was apparently drunk. She will now take one week off from listening to Skip Bayless argue with himself. Sounds like a blessing in disguise.↵
