The Asset Has Arrived: Terrelle Pryor

By Spencer Hall
Terrelle Pryor is the only name you need know in college football recruiting this year. This does not mean he is going to be the savior of a program, a Heisman trophy winnner, or even a starter. It doesn’t even mean he’s going to play football next year--for all anyone knows, Pryor could hear a calling, join a cult, or decide to become America’s next John Matrix and join the military. Or his knee could explode as he bends down to pick up a dime. Welcome to the carnival of fun that is recruiting 18 year old athletes!
Pryor does have the prerequisites for being the Prom King of 2008 recruiting.
1. Unreal, man-against-boys highlight tape? Check.

2. Currently deciding between two bitter rival schools?
You betcha. After Pryor canceled his visits to LSU and Oregon, Pryor will decide between Michigan and Ohio State. Nah, this won’t be acrimonious. Not at all.
3. Entourage? Check. Few 18 year olds outside of the entertainment industry have their own staff and entourage, but Pryor’s got one. Pryor claims current NFL qb Charlie Batch of the Steelers in his camp as an advisor, along with his family, friends, and whomever else will be onstage when he announces.
4. Recruiting diary? Roger that, Houston.
He’s the total package, as a recruiting expert would say. And he’s the best recruit ever, or at least until next year’s recruiting season cranks up and gives us a new wunderkind to slobber over.↵
