NEW ORLEANS -- I really don’t have anything left to say. And neither do the players and coaches.
We all are ready for tonight’s BCS title game between favored LSU and Ohio State.
Is it a hot ticket on the streets on NOLA? Not according to the scalper strolling Canal Street I talked to.

“Nah,†Rufus says. “I am just paying face value right now. Early on, we could get people to pay top dollar. We call them ‘Geekers.’ But as game time draws closer, the prices will keep coming down. They always do.â€
But I will say this before I stroll down Poydras toward the Superdome: I think LSU will win its second national title since 2003.
I think the defenses will be a wash, as each unit is outstanding. The difference will be on offense. That’s where I think the Tigers have an edge that will help them make three to five big plays. That will be the difference in what I think will be a fairly low-scoring game.
The quarterback tandem of Matt Flynn and Ryan Perrilloux will keep the Buckeyes’ defense off balance, and the playmaking skills of wideout Early Doucet will have a big impact. And the Ohio State defense will be softened up by the running of Jacob Hester and Keiland Williams.
The final: LSU 24, Ohio State 21.
So, there you have it. LSU puts another brick in the wall of what has become the premier program in the SEC.↵
Quit talking, start playing
