Tom Dienhart breaks down the action of the BCS championship game. The halftime report:
The band is on the field! The band is on the field! That means just one thing: It’s time to eat. The halftime fare: chili dogs loaded with cheese and onions. They were handing out forks and knives to eat them with. But I thought: What kind of ninny eats a loaded chili dog like it’s filet mignon? Exactly.
Glancing into the stands below me, I think I saw some Ohio State fans dousing themselves with cold water. Can’t say I blame them.
Ohio State has outgained LSU, 234-198, but LSU is in control because of the timely passing of Flynn, the fact it has no turnovers and because of its dizzying amount of formations that have confused the OSU defense. Wells has done his part, running 10 times for 119 yards. But Boeckman hasn’t answered the call, looking shaky in the pocket and hitting just 6 of 13 passes with a pick and a sack.
If Ohio State falls farther behind, it will take Wells more and more out of the game. And that’s a horrible thing for OSU.
