Wizards Frankenstein Big Man Project Should Be Entertaining, If Not Totally Effective

↵So after I sloppily broke down the Wizards injury issues, trying hard to disguise my irrational love for Andray Blatche, that mysterious JaVale McGee went out and killed it in a preseason game. And, going by the Post, Haywood’s definitely out a while.↵

↵Let’s get this straight: Jamison’s probably going to be fine, soon. Gil should be back in the first month, albeit gradually returning to form. So we’re looking at Haywood’s absence spelled by some combination of Blatche, McGee, and that pesky, yet effective, radical spark plug Etan Thomas. How is that not totally awesome? You have two absurd “project” players who are further along than you think, and a guy who can always step in and stop the madness/bleeding/backlash.↵

↵Blatche is an extremely messy combination of Lamar Odom stuck down low, Josh Smith, and Marcus Camby. McGee is a seven-footer with mobility and ups. Thomas is insurance. I know we’ll all miss Brendan Haywood’s ineffable charms, but seriously, isn’t this situation just a touch more rad -- especially when you’re talking about those early months, when nothing matters anyway?↵
