Bad Karma Catches Up to Sooners, Texas Wins

↵In the end, Oklahoma just didn’t enough fake injury moxie in the second half to beat Texas. The Longhorns win 45-35 in what could be conceivably called a “shoot-out.” I found it interesting that near the Texas 40 with 2-1/2 minutes left and down 10, Bob Stoops elected to go for it on fourth down. Oklahoma’s most brilliant play of the second half came on punter Mike Knall’s flop. If it ain’t broke ...
↵
↵More seriously, Colt McCoy turned out a tough, tough performance. He wasn’t perfect, he wasn’t Vince Young ... but he won the game for Texas with smart play. He should have been tagged for a crucial interception which ended up botched by the refs, but no one will remember that in January.
↵
↵We’ll have another new #1 team this week. #2 Alabama’s off, #3 Missouri has a tough draw with Oklahoma State and #4 LSU will try to beat the snot out of the Gators tonight. The Texas win was fantastic in its own right, but it has the added benefit of making tonight’s slate even more interesting.↵
