The NFC East Bubble Pops Deflates Quickly

↵
↵So much for all the stroking the vaunted NFC East has received the past few weeks. Upstart Washington fell in an early game to the simply awful Rams (last place in the NFC West). In the late set, Dallas falls to Arizona, a team any number of discerning voices had predicted would not deserve a playoff berth should they win their awful division since the NFC East’s fourth-place team is guaranteed to stay at home.

↵Dallas lost by 6 in OT at the Pink Taco, with an inconsistent offense (Romo looked drunk in the extra frame), an iffy defense and awful, AWFUL special teams play pitching in to finish the Cowboys. Dallas gave up a TD on the opening kick, repeatedly allowed the Cards to start with good field position and lost the game on a blocked punt at their own three.

↵Philadelphia managed to a salvage a victory in San Francisco, despite falling behind 26-17 in the second half. The Eagles went up 17-6 to begin the game, with Donovan McNabb peppering the ball all over the field and Correll Buckhalter whipping up a frenzy. But the win can be directly attributed to the Eagles defense, which finally arrived in the final 10 minutes by assaulting J.T. O’Sullivan into oblivion and making about four HUGE plays.↵
