Last night’s Sox-Rays Game 5 was accurately summed up by Coco Crisp, whose single in the 8th tied the game at seven-all: “It was pretty much the most amazing thing I’ve ever been a part of.”↵↵And, as a fan, it was pretty much the most amazing game I’ve ever seen. Ballgames just don’t get any better, really. To score eight runs when the Red Sox were down to their last seven outs of the season -- after how totally inept their offense was in the first six innings -- was just impossible. Of course, the Rays bullpen helped ... a lot. And once the comeback started, the Rays’ bats went to sleep and the loss seemed inevitable. It was a boulder rolling downhill that Tampa wasn’t going to stop once it started moving. ↵
Sox Fans Missed a Great Ballgame Last Night
↵↵But luckily, I didn’t fall asleep. Although I came close several times. And neither did RED SAWX NATION! You guys are die haahds! Am I right, Nation, you wouldn’t pass out and give up on your Sawx!? Eh, maybe you would. From the Boston Globe’s “Confidence Meter”: ↵

↵↵Yep, of over 10,000 polled so far this morning, nearly 60% of them went to bed before the Red Sox came back to win. Best fans in the world, though! Although, on the bright side for the Boston hater in all of us, almost 70% of Sox fans “believe” their team is gonna win the ALCS. This means when they inevitably fail in one of the next two games, the let down will be that much more painful. Nothing tastes better than some late October Boston Schadenfreude. Although it’ll be hard to rub it in their faces, what with all the Sox fans being tucked in by 11PM sharp. ↵
