Charger Feet Can’t Take Too Many More Self-Inflicted Wounds

↵So much for Philip Rivers as king of the QBs. With a chance to take the lead late in the fourth against the Bills, Rivers delivers an interception to Kawika Mitchell in the red zone. Buffalo burns a mess of clock and finishes with a long Rian Lindell field goal to go up nine. Next possession, three minutes left: Rivers holds the ball over his head, waves it a bit, and watches Mitchell knock it free. Bills get a first down, the game is over and S.D. is 3-4.

↵What’s more shocking? That LenDale White was able to run 80 yards without combusting into flames and smoke? Or Tyler Thigpen running amok and getting Kansas City on the scoreboard twice in three possessions? Thigpen couldn’t bang it in with first and goal on the one, but the ensuing field goal was a beautiful precursor to the next drive, which ended with Thigpen bullying into the end zone for KC’s first touchdown in eight quarters. White’s long, loud “sprint” for a third touchdown wins, though. Sorry Chiefs.

↵* St. Louis 34, Dallas 14. Brad Johnson’s line: 17-of-34 for 234 yards, one TD and three interceptions. Tony Romo feels a lot better by Tuesday, I’m guessing.
↵
↵* R.I.P. Wildcat. Ronnie Brown was ineffective (28 yards from scrimmage), and Miami goes down 27-13 to Baltimore.
↵
↵* Reggie Bush got hurt and Drew Brees got nothing out of the returns of Marques Colston and Jeremey Shockey. Panthers take a 30-7 victory.↵
