Nothing Lightens the Mood of a Terrorism Trial Better Than Some Phillies Gear

Oh, this is just hilarious! So, these six crazy Islamic radicals had this little scheme last May to rush Fort Dix in New Jersey, strapped with as many automatic weapons as they could shoulder and kill every soldier in sight. That’s not the funny part. That was actually quite serious.↵↵The six men were caught, thank goodness, before they could carry out their evil plan. They’re currently on trial in Jersey, just across the river from Philadelphia, and it’s in that court room where the hilarity I speak of broke out yesterday:↵

↵↵⇥Thirteen of the 18 jurors and alternates wore shirts, sweaters or sweatshirts sporting the Philadelphia Phillies logo. The attorneys, judge and spectators laughed.↵↵Man, that’s rich. Nothing like lightening up the mood with some officially-licensed MLB merchandise. This judicial system can be such a Debbie Downer sometimes. Well done, good citizens of Camden. ↵↵And speaking of the Phillies and terrorism, The Daily Show made a startling connection last night between Barack Obama and some fanatical extremist from Philadelphia. Check out the video after the jump for more on that breaking news.↵
