Cowboys Defense Holds On For Dear Life

↵Tampa Bay’s offense involves no great shakes: pound the ball and prevent catastrophic injury to Jeff Garcia. Unfortunately, that sort of arsenal doesn’t work as well down four with spare minutes left the game. Starting at its own 26 with a little more than four minutes to go, Tampa Bay made it to the Dallas 33 before a 4th down try finally failed, rendering Brad Johnson a champion this week with a 13-9 Cowboys win. Dallas’ season does not end today!
↵
↵Johnson didn’t play like a champ, though, with only 122 yards on 33 pass attempts. The Bucs defense was nasty as always, yielding only 172 yards total. Roy E. Williams got the lone TD of game on a short pass from Johnson. TB’s Garcia couldn’t get anything long, and Earnest Graham was ineffective.

↵Elsewhere ...
↵
↵* Washington continues to gives it fans heart attacks. The Skins trailed Detroit at the half, but came together to take a late 25-17 lead it would not relinquish. Jason Campbell still hasn’t thrown an interception all season (in 202 attempts with 7 TDs), Clinton Portis is still the truth (another 126 yards on the ground) and the Lions ... yeah. Nice try, Detroit.
↵
↵* Miami shocked Buffalo 25-16. The Bills defense denied Ronnie Brown the freedom he deserves, but Chad Pennington blew up for more than 314 efficiently earned yards.
↵
↵* The Patriots trailed 16-13 in the fourth, but Matt Cassel led his team to a 23-16 victory. Kevin Faulk helped a lot.
↵
↵* The Panthers are undefeated when they score more points than their opponent. Carolina 27, Arizona 23.↵
