The Name of Buffalo’s Offensive Coordinator Is Easy for Emmitt Smith to Say

Do we watch Monday Night Countdown just to find reasons to make fun of Emmitt Smith? Yes. Are we ever left without any material? No. This is because talking is very, very difficult, which is why we type for a living.â†µâ†µLast night, as Emmitt was brilliantly breaking down what the Bills must do on offense to win, he had this little flub while trying to say both the first and last name of Buffalo’s offensive coordinator. Luckily, Suzy Kolber did her homework and was there to help. â†µ

â†µâ†µEmmitt: And so offensive coordinator Kirk ... â†µ

â†µâ†µKolber: Turk. â†µ

â†µâ†µEmmitt: Turk Sheranan ...â†µ

â†µâ†µKolber: Turk Schoner.â†µ

â†µâ†µEmmitt: Schonert ... must get him involved in the game. â†µ

Schonert was listening because he did get the ball to Beast Mode more than 20 times. Marshawn Lynch carried it 23 times, to be exact, for 119 yards. But his most substantial play was a one-yard dump down (also known as the only type of pass Trent Edwards attempted all night) that he took 18 yards for a TD despite the tremendous tackling efforts of the Browns defense. â†µâ†µLynch’s big game was all for naught, however, but not because Brady Quinn was particularly good (because he wasn’t). No, it was the power of the ESPN jinx that did in the Bills and forced them to miss that would-be game-winning field goal.â†µ
