Kurt Warner, Cardinals Kick it Old School

↵Kurt Warner partied like it’s 2005. Maybe the Giants uniforms snapped something in his brain. The unlikely MVP candidate saw unreal amounts of pressure from the New York defense, and it resulted in myriad hurried misfires and a backbreaking third quarter fumble that allowed the G-Men to score on a short field and take a 24-12 lead. In the fourth, down 24-19, Warner offered a game-sealing interception to Terrell Thomas. The Giants turned it into seven points and never looked back, winning 37-29.
↵
↵Missing Brandon Jacobs all afternoon and Plaxico Burress for all but the game’s first series, the New York offense performed at a level short of stunning. But Eli Manning nor Derrick Ward made no mistakes, and that’s enough given the excellent defensive effort.
↵
↵Ken Whisenhunt literally kicked it old school, having Neil Rackers attempt the rarely seen “fair catch free kick” to end the second quarter. The rules are complicated and arcane, but basically Arizona attempted a 68-yard kick ... with no allowed rush from the Giants and no snap. It was weird, man. (Also, it was no good.)↵
