Obama Better Work Portis Into His Cabinet

↵
↵The Clinton Portis so-called bashing of Jim Zorn yesterday was blown way, way out of proportion by many, including the Skins’ hometown
Washington Post
, which should come as no big surprise -- the
Post
and the Redskins don’t play nice. ↵↵Nevertheless, what Portis said on D.C.’s SportsTalk 980 was something. It wasn’t the start of a revolt against first-year coach Zorn, but it certainly wasn’t a positive either. It feel somewhere between. It was a team MVP, who was benched two days prior, voicing frustrations that are likely echoed by much of the Redskins’ locker room, albeit in a less than constructive way. These things happen when a team manages to blow January football reservations over the course of five weeks. ↵
↵↵But just to make sure all was cool, and that coach and coachee were eye-to-eye, Zorn met with Portis today. Afterward, CP had some choice quotes, as always. Dan Steinberg at the D.C. Sports Bog has them all, but this was an instant classic:↵
↵↵⇥“Before this turns into a whole ‘nother ’Clinton Portis Want Out of Washington,’↵⇥I love [the] Washington, D.C. area. I love this DMV or whatever you↵⇥want to call it. Me and Obama got big plans for the next four years, so↵⇥I’ll be here.”↵↵He’s not lying. Obama and Portis have had several closed door meetings, and word is they are extremely close to finalizing the creation of The Department of Pocket Equilibrium. Its mission: to deter all those who may try to hate on your paper.↵
