The lead story on yesterday’s 6PM SportsCenter was JoePa signing a contract extension. The second story? Mark Teixeira is close to deciding where he’ll sign. Seriously. And they labeled this as a “developing story” accompanied by flashy graphics. There was no new scoop on where he’s leaning, or if he’s eliminated any teams from the running. So, basically, the story was -- and still is, as of this writing -- that Mark Teixeira is going to play baseball somewhere next season and we will know sooner rather than later where that will be. ↵↵We really don’t understand what is taking Tex so long to make up his mind though. Presumably, he wants three things: to make an ungodly sum of money, to win, and to play on the east coast. Several teams are in the running -- Red Sox, Angels, Yankees, Orioles, Nationals -- so to make this real simple like, we’ve broken it down, Venn diagram style:↵
Breaking News: Teixeira Will Sign Somewhere

↵↵There you have it, Mark Teixeira will be playing in Boston next season. Unless, of course, we’ve misunderstood the three things he’s looking for in his new team and makes some sort of career killing move, like signing with the Nationals. ↵
↵↵To clarify: Yankees aren’t in the Money section because they’re offering less for Tex than the others ... and the Nationals aren’t in the Money/Location section because there’s no way in hell he’s signing there, says this pessimistic Nats fan.↵
