Ravens Corner Provides Weather, Not News

There was a little scrum following the extra point after the Steelers scored their controversial, game-winning touchdown against the Ravens on Sunday. You may recall Steelers’ kicker Jeff Reed incurring a 15-yard penalty for pushing a Raven player. After the game, punter (and holder on the extra point) Mitch Berger claimed that the Raven Reed shoved, Frank Walker, spit in his mouth during the dust-up.↵↵Now, Walker is claiming that it was just a big accident that spit went from his mouth, through two facemasks and into Berger’s oral cavity:↵
↵↵⇥“It was just a slobber moment,” Walker said. “Yeah, say it, don’t spray it.”↵↵Ah, the dreaded “slobber moment.” Mine always come at the worst times, like on a first date. You have no idea how many potential girlfriends’ mouths I’ve spat into -- by accident, of course. Old Country Buffett has that effect on me. ↵↵Walker wasn’t finished, however. He went on to add this tasty tidbit:↵
↵↵⇥Walker was adamant, though, that it doesn’t bother him that the Steelers think he meant to spit on Berger.↵⇥↵⇥“I don’t care,” said Walker, who added that he was fined $5,000 for an illegally tinted visor. “I hate Pittsburgh.”↵⇥
↵↵It’s always refreshing to hear a player admit he hates a rival team. But, for the record, he doesn’t hate them enough to spit on their players. He just has overactive saliva glands.
