Andy Kennedy’s Slurs Are Racist, Unoriginal

This Andy Kennedy stuff is blowing up the internets today. We’d previously passed on discussing it, but the latest bit of info out of Cincinnati makes it impossible for us to continue ignoring it.↵↵For those who don’t live in the online sporting universe like us, here’s the brief recap. Kennedy, who is the current head coach of Ole Miss and a former assistant coach at Cincy, is in town for tonight’s Rebels vs. Louisville neutral site game. At some point last night, Kennedy became irritated with his cab driver -- Mohammed Ould Jiddou, a native of Africa -- who refused to allow five passengers into his car. Instead of oh, I don’t know, hailing another cab for the rest of his party, the coach allegedly instead opted to punch Jiddou in the head with a closed fist several times while hurling racial slurs at him. ↵
↵↵We now know what slurs Kennedy allegedly said:↵
↵↵⇥Rusty O’Brien, a Louisville, Ky., attorney, said Jiddou told him Kennedy called him “Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein.” ↵↵Man, how ignorant can one guy be? Everyone knows Saddam is dead. ↵↵In case you’re curious, Kennedy will be allowed by Ole Miss’ AD to coach the game tonight. It’s kinda shocking that a university -- a place that’s suppose to support diversity, education, understating, etc. -- wouldn’t be more outraged over what is essentially a hate crime. Of course, these are still just allegations and Kennedy says none of it is true. ↵
