Mark Cuban Takes Criticism Well, Rips Nets Fans

↵Devin Harris went ballistic on the Mavericks last night, tallying 41 points and 13 assists against his old team. Jason Kidd -- the legend Dallas mortgaged the future for in Harris’ stead -- had a somewhat less awesome performance. Most people outside of Dallas admitted Mark Cuban had been fleeced by the Nets last season; as Harris has turned into a potential All-Star while the Mavericks struggle to stay in the playoff picture this year, the calls have gotten worse.
↵
↵Last night, the calls became audible as Nets fans chanted “THANK YOU CU-BAN!“ once Harris came out in the fourth with the Nets up big. As you’d expect, Cuban handled it in a completely gracious manner. Here’s the owner quoted on Julian Garcia’s New York Daily News blog:↵↵⇥“I guess when you don’t care about your own team you talk about someone on the other team, right? I guess that’s what Nets fans are all about...I think the goal of everybody in New Jersey is to be a general manager. So I can understand why they want to share their expertise.”↵↵Actually, Cubes ... I think they are talking about a player from their own team. And they are thanking you for pressing a ridiculous deal which allowed N.J. to acquire said player. If anything, the fans were being too gracious. They should have loudly explained how much of an idiot you were for proactively looking for a way to ditch one of the top five young point guards in the league. The fans don’t want to be general managers -- they just appreciate their team’s own GM, who completely destroyed you last February.
↵
↵Really, it’s not difficult to understand.↵
