Green Bay Hosts a Super Bowl, Sort Of

↵
↵I can’t believe Super Bowl Sunday has been such a hypeless affair this year. There is a Super Bowl this weekend ... right, Lions rookie tackle Gosder Cherilus?↵↵⇥“It’s Week 17 and I don’t know what it’s like to win an NFL game,” [Cherilus] said somberly. “The situation we’re in has to be enough to give everything you’ve got in this last game. It’s our Super Bowl.”↵↵No word on the halftime entertainment, or even whether most of the country will be able to see Super Bowl 42.5 on basic cable. And as long as we’re all being honest ... I’m just going to watch for the commercials.
↵
↵Detroit does seem to be taking this extremely seriously, though. Contact has been made with the 1976 Bucs. The Fords have graciously decided not to raise ticket prices for next season. And cornerback Travis Fisher has promised to walk from Green Bay to Detroit -- 350 miles in December -- if the Lions win. It’s quite possible one game has never meant more to any team, really.↵
