Party With Historical Figures in Detroit Tonight

↵FanHouse’s Will Brinson alerts us that the Lions will be celebrating the end of the wonderful 2008 NFL season tonight in Detroit. Dwight Smith and Super Bowl MVP Gosder Cherilius will host an up-scale bash at Esko Lounge in downtown Motor City, whether the Lions win or lose in Wisconsin.
↵
↵At the party listing at Metromix, promoter Chuck Wells explains the impetus for the celebration.↵↵⇥“I really wanted to host this party so that people can get to know some of the Detroit Lions,” says promoter Chuck Wells. “I think that because of the way the season turned out, people painted a negative portrayal of the Lions. However, by attending this event, I am hoping that the perceptions of the audience will change to a positive light.”↵↵Nothing like a few rounds and some Monday morning regrets to clear the air about that whole 0-16 thing.
↵
↵Both the Metromix listing and the Facebook promo Brinson found offer a list of Lions who will attend. But if Travis Fisher is a man of his word and Detroit wins, Fisher -- who promised to walk back to Motor City if the Lions prevail -- won’t be making it back for the shindig.↵
