How Dare LeBron Celebrate His B-Day Like That

So whatever, LeBron James has established himself as the NBA’s best, and should win the first of many MVPs to come this season -- even if the Cavs don’t win that title they’ve finally got a decent shot at. What matters in sports is heart. Courage. Honesty. Dignity. Integrity. Trust. Loyalty. And a host of other things sports writers will tell you are important that this young behemoth of hoops clearly lacks when it comes to celebrating his 24th birthday.↵

↵Take it away, South Florida Sentinel:↵↵⇥LeBron James’ 24th birthday party Monday night on South Beach did not include any Cavaliers teammates, but it did include a Tuesday night opponent.↵⇥
↵⇥
↵⇥“There weren’t any team players there,” Heat guard Dwyane Wade said of the event. “It was moreso of close family, things like that.”↵⇥
↵⇥
↵⇥Considering the time they spent together leading to the 2003 NBA Draft and then their years as two-time Olympic teammates, James and Wade have come to consider themselves family.↵↵
Poppycock! Doesn’t this young, moneyed thug know the first thing about making your team, not some dude drafted the same year as you, your family? And what’s up with celebrating in South Beach? It may be the closest modern America gets to a Garden of Earthly Delights and Pleasuredome rolled up in one, but it’s not in Ohio. Go back to your roots, son, embrace Akron yet again, and hold your festivities at a local Cleveland landmark. This is totally proof that Bron’s loyalties lie elsewhere. Is there cap space for Miami to sign him and Wade?↵
↵
↵Or maybe the lesson we take away is this: Cleveland, he may say he loves you, but really, he’s just using you to win a title. And using your goodwill to build up his own messianic legacy. What a jerk.↵
