Someone needs to tell Stephen Curry it’s December, not March. Curry has a lot to play for right now (Southern Conference dominance, Player of the Year consideration, draft status), of course, but you’re supposed to save up absurdist performance for the tournament, where legends are made eternal.

Stephen Curry’s Gone Mad 4 Months Early
↵
↵LeBron James, long a fan of Curry, remains impressed. LeBron attended the Davidson-N.C.State game while in Charlotte for a game against the Bobcats this weekend. King James has been jealous of that ridiculous range.
↵
↵The performance against the Pack (44 points, 3 assists) fits Curry’s mold to date: when he scores in the 20s or low 30s, he racks up an impressive assist total. When he goes ballistic, like today, his assists drop. It’s to be expected -- the Wildcats only totaled 22 points outside of those buckets scored or assisted by Curry.
↵
↵But pro scouts, surely in love with the jumper and Curry’s excellent athleticism and touch, will be watching that assist number closely. No one rides with 6’3 two-guards these days. While Curry will make thousands of pro fans fall in love with shots like this and point totals like that (guilty), he’ll blow up his draft stock with bigger assist numbers and by keeping the turnovers in check. He’s done a great job of this so far with 7 assists per game, but there’s a lot of work to be done.

↵In the meantime, I’ll be happy to enjoy swag like this on a semi-weekly basis. Can we replace all televised Big 10 basketball with a full docket of Davidson?↵
