SEC Championship, 3rd Quarter: Bama Banging

If you wonder what it takes to get Julio Jones to go down on one hit from a defensive back, I have a simple answer for you: a shot from a taser. Julio Jones had three catches on the dominating six-and-a-half minute drive giving Alabama their tying TD, including a third-and-long grab from around the Tide’s own ten keeping the drive alive and allowing Alabama to open its playbook a bit. ↵↵Florida missed a go-ahead field goal, and Alabama marched right back off play-action passing and ... this may be it. Right now, Alabama is dictating the game. They control the line. They are pressuring Tebow. They are bumping Florida’s receivers and pushing Gator defenders around at the point of attack. They are ordering expensive goods and charging Florida’s credit cards for them without complaint from the Gators. They point, and Florida is giving them what they want. ↵
↵↵At this point, Florida is lucky to have only surrendered 10 points in the third. If Alabama gets the TD on the last drive, the submission hold would have been in place, and the fourth quarter would have been little more than Florida squirming helplessly before tapping out. ↵
