This is from over the weekend, so forgive me for posting something so ancient in Internet Standard Time, but this is too rich to pass over (plus, I took a four day break, so everything from the weekend is new to me). During the Yankees-Mariners game on Sunday, play-by-play man John Sterling got a little bit overly excited about a go-ahead RBI by Robinson Cano Jose Molina:↵↵
YES’ John Sterling Will Alter the Truth If It Will Help Get Cano Out of That Slump

↵Considering Cano bats lefty and Sterling had already referred to the hitter as “Molina” at the start of the at-bat, I’m not really sure how the mix up happened. Although Cano is hitting just .223, so maybe he just really wanted that RBI double to count for Robbie’s stat line. Plus, Sterling hasn’t had too many chances this season to show off that oh-so-clever “Ribbie for Robbie” call.
