Celtics Are Heartbreakers, Will Win in Six

↵
↵The real question isn’t “what happened to the Lakers?”, or “how good are the Celtics?” -- they’re both answered by the same thing, a reminder that this Boston team is as hellish a defense as we’ve seen in a while. I still don’t get how Boston can both neutralize Kobe as an individual player

and

a distributor. I guess the triangle is that fragile and precious, or Paul Pierce really deserves credit for improved defense now.↵
↵
↵

↵Nor is it about whether LA choked. This didn’t seem to me like the Celtics comeback against the Nets way back when. That was, for all the might of Pierce and Walker, kind of a fluke. Last night, that was flat-out dominance. It was like game one and part of game two, but concentrated and terrifying. Which brings us to the real question: Is this over?↵
↵
↵Or, more accurately, should you keep watching if your stake is either in competition or Los Angeles? I’d say no. Sure, the Lakers probably win on Sunday. But last night’s loss happening at home? It’s a lot like what happened to the Spurs a few weeks back. Killed their heart. And that was the mighty Spurs; some of these Lakers have mental problems or have never even heard of the Finals. On Kobe’s pride alone, they should take this last game at home. But then, this is over in 6.↵
↵
↵Hand it to Boston: While their offense hasn’t exactly been the thing of beauty we expected from Pierce, Garnett and Allen, and all three have had their ups and downs in the playoffs, their defense might yet secure them a place in history. Aside from the ring they’ll get.↵
