Tampa Not So Safe for Black, Latin Red Sox

↵We don’t deny that we loathe Boston-area teams here at TSB. This is mostly because they win everything and there is a direct correlation between the number of championships they win and the amount of obnoxious fans that emerge from the woodwork. Having said that, the worst we’d ever wish upon these people is for their teams to go back to sucking so they’d all disappear again. ↵↵There is a deranged man in Tennessee, however, who seems to have an unhealthy hate for the Red Sox. So much so, that he has threatened bodily harm to some of the players:↵

↵↵⇥The Red Sox received a mailed threat, believed to be postmarked in Memphis, that targeted black and Latin players, citing at least two players by name, the newspaper reports. The named players will have extra security during their time in Florida, even away from Tropicana Field.↵↵

↵He targeted just the black and Latin players? So, that means he let Jonathan Papelbon off the hook? Because if there is one player on that team I’d like to see receive a beat-down, it would be that guy. Not that I’d ever condone that behavior ... I’m just sayin’. ↵↵But don’t fear for the Red Sox: Extra security has been dispatched from New England to Tampa for the team’s series against the Rays, which starts tonight. Based on the way things went last time these two played, I think the real threat of violence exists on the field. ↵
