FirstCuts: Nike Zoom LeBron VI Unveiled

LeBron James was past his bum ankle and back practicing with Team USA in Macau on Monday. Although he rolled his ankle in the Nike Zoom Soldier II when he stepped on Kevin Durant’s foot, a new shoe surfaced with LeBron abroad.↵

↵↵As it turns out, this will be LeBron James’ sixth signature shoe, the Zoom LeBron VI. When asked by HK-Kicks whether the shoe was the Zoom LeBron VI or the Zoom Power, James confirmed it was indeed the VI. Other than the 3M “United We Rise” pattern, there isn’t a lot known about the tech in the shoe.↵

↵↵Here’s what matters: It appears to be another sort of ho-hum shoe from the line of an athlete that Nike invested seven years and $90 million in coming out of high school in 2003. Everything that has been featured in the LeBron James family to this point has also spent significant time on sales racks and in outlet stores for its failure to cross over the way Jordans did, both as a fashion piece and a serious on-the-court piece of footwear.↵
