‘Lights Out’ Dims ‘Neon’; We Demand Rematch

Boxer James “Lights Out” Toney has done a lot of things in his life -- won world titles in three weight classes, twice was named the Ring Fighter of the Year, played Joe Frazier in Ali, started his own line of cigars (appropriately named “Lights Out”) and generally has been the most quotable, irascible, and “undestructible” dude on the block.↵↵To that list of notable achievements, it seems that we can add a one-punch KO of Deion Sanders: ↵

↵↵⇥‘Lights Out’ claims that “back in the day” (around 1986) he had a minor altercation with football and baseball star ‘Neon’ Deion Sanders at a Michigan university football camp for promising high school football stars. ↵⇥↵⇥“But it wasn’t much of a scuffle,” said Toney of the dispute with Sanders.↵⇥

↵⇥↵⇥“We was in football camp and the Michigan camps was one of he biggest camps in the world. We got in an argument over a bed, it wasn’t much of an altercation,” said Toney who shrugged off the dispute. ↵⇥

↵⇥↵⇥“It was two hits -- me hittin’ him -- and him hittin’ the floor,” he chuckled.↵⇥

↵↵After telling his Sanders story, the always verbose Toney went on in this recent tirade to call out pretty much every heavyweight in boxing today, including “Wladimir Klitschko or his big sister Vitali.” But forget the lackluster heavyweight division -- I think we all know the fight we want to see now. Lights Out tries to dim the Neon one more time. Toney/Sanders II -- The War to Settle the Score.↵
