Plaxico to Take Two Week Forced Vacation

Well this is somewhat shocking news out of Jersey today: The Giants are gonna be without their best offensive weapon when they play Seattle in two weeks. Plaxico Burress has been told by the team to go ahead and take a couple weeks off: ↵↵⇥FOXSports.com has learned that the Giants have suspended Burress for two weeks for failing to show up for work on Monday and not responding to several phone calls by the team to explain his unexcused absence both Monday and Tuesday. ↵⇥↵⇥The star wideout, who was just rewarded with a new lucrative contract three weeks ago, was slated to meet with team officials early this morning to explain why he would’ve violated team rules and failed to return several phone calls explaining his whereabouts. ↵⇥

↵↵Luckily for the Giants, they have a bye this week, so they’ll only be without Plax for one game. This is also lucky for Plax, who I’m sure is really upset about not having to practice all week. But still, this is obviously troubling for the team. Why wouldn’t your star wideout, who just got paid after complaining about his contract all off-season, suddenly not show up for work this week? The Giants hope to get an answer when they meet with him this morning. ↵↵Updates to come, but for now I’m operating under the assumption that this is all Drew Rosenhaus’ fault. It always is. ↵
