Brett Favre, Making Things Awkward in G.B.

I’d say much of Wisconsin’s attention has been diverted this afternoon by the Brew Crew’s (nearly) final plea for its first postseason play since ‘82, but that’d just be silly. The Green Bay Packers were on TV, losing in Tampa. Aaron Rodgers wasn’t so hot, tallying three INTs (one of which wasn’t his fault) and only 165 yards on 27 attempts. But in the Meadowlands ...

↵... Brett Favre exploded for six TDs (a career high) as the Jets hung 55 points on the Cardinals. The Brewers beat the Cubs (with C.C. Sabathia tossing a complete game) with the season on the line, but I assure you half of the state of Wisconsin is at the typewriter preparing remarks for soon-to-come calls into local sports talk radio. (For the sanity of all involved, I hope I’m wrong).

↵Elsewhere ...
↵
↵* Larry Johnson has been reanimated, and he led KC to its first win, 33-19 over previously unbeaten Denver. LJ went for a shade under two bucks and added two TDs. Turnovers destroyed the Broncs.
↵
↵* Turnovers also destroyed the Vikings, as Minnesota drops one to the monstrous Titans 30-17. Gus Frerotte had an INT and a lost fumble. Adrian Peterson and Naufahu Tahi put it on the carpet once each, too.
↵
↵* An entertaining shoot-out in Jacksonville left Houston still searching for its first victory. Matt Schaub was brilliant for the first time in a while, but the rushing attack failed to help. Thumbs up for David Garrard.↵
