The White Sox 162-game season game down to one inning last night. Down 2-1 in the 6th, the Chisox tied it when two wild pitches allowed the runner to score from second. Three walks later, the bases were loaded for rookie Alexei Ramirez to do this:↵

↵“You can put it on the boooooard ... YES!” remains the greatest home run call in television broadcasting, and this once was the most enthusiastic of the season. WGN’s Play-by-play man Darrin Jackson even showed a little range while yelling the “board” part. “Mercy!” was a nice touch, as well. I’m sure he’s been saving both for just such an occasion. ↵↵After the Sox 8-2 victory, the fun continues tonight at 7:30 on TSB as household names Nick Blackburn and John Danks take the mound for the Twins and White Sox, respectively, to decide who advances to October. I’ll be rooting for whichever team A.J. Pierzynski currently does not play for. ↵
